Any suggestions for Carer support groups on Gold Coast for BPD

Hi,

my 24 year old daughter has recently been diagnosed with BPD. She has recently moved back i to our house. I would love to attend a support group as I am feeling lost and fragile myself.

I don't want my action and lack of understanding to compromise her health or possible improvement.

thanks for any suggestions

Hi @ZAP Welcome to the forums.

There are a number of support options available in Qld for carers however the government last year changed the way services were delivered. Due to forum guidelines we cannot recommend any specific group but this is general information that may be of help

Wellways was awarded the govt contract to provide free mental health carer support services in Qld.

Carers Qld were not successful in their bid, but may still offer support groups.

The BPD Foundation offers a free family connections class which may be helpful

The carer gateway is the govt carer portal and has helpful information

Hi @ZAP

Just a quick note. Please do not disclose further information about your location as it may well breach the forum guidelines on privacy. It is essential to the safety of forum members that no specific locations are posted that might allow you to be identified.

Good luck with Carer Support groups

@ZAP

If you ring these organisations they may be aware of what is on offer in a location handy to you 🙂.
