Re: Far and Away

My knee is strapped and improving @Zoe7.  I have to be careful with stairs for a while.

I am going to take a nap ….. my eyes are already going in that direction whether I like it or not …. lol

Its been a big week, and an even bigger one coming up.

Re: Far and Away

@Zoe7 My 3 tattoos are of 3 plants that grow in my area.  They represent home.  Where I feel the best.

I love your tattoo,  not just the image - beautiful,  but the meaning behind it.  It's a powerful message and I hope you find comfort in it,  every time you look at it.

@Adge . Procedures can be scary.  Waiting for results is awful.  Very hard to control negative thoughts.  I understand.

Tmw I have a Covid test and then isolate for my surgery on Thursday.  Am having a camera inserted and a D and C to take samples of my Uterine wall.  Due to some serious symptoms I've experienced recently. I am expecting the worse and will have to wait 7 to 10 days for the Diagnosis.  Then wait for the CT scan to see if the cancer has spread,  which we think it has.

Doesn't matter when people say,  "don't think the worse" etc.  It doesn't stop your mind going there. It doesn't stop the symptoms occurring.  All the techniques I use to control my Anxiety,  are out the window.  Just can't do a single one of them.  So my GP has given me some calming tablets,  plus a mild sleep helper,  for those super hard times.

So my wish for you is that the procedure is thorough,  painless,  and the results come quickly and anything they find is easily fixed.

Hugs  💜

Re: Far and Away

Oh, I'm sorry @utopia That sounds very anxiety-provoking.

A tough situation for you to be in.

You will be in my thoughts & best wishes.

I had major unexplained weight loss (still not Regained) - Which prompted tests, which found internal blood loss & very low Iron levels.

I don't see how Tuesday's procedures can or will discover the causes.

Certainly the cause of the weight loss will remain unknown.

Best Wishes,

Adge

Re: Far and Away

@Adge . I have suspected blood loss and low iron and folate. I was so tired.  No energy.   Needed an Iron transfusion . Wait list just to see the specialist is 3 years at my local hospital.  We have been waiting since October.  A private specialist who comes to another nearby hospital,  as a favour to a mate,  will now see me.  I call him tmw to get a date and time.  So I will,  hopefully sooner than 3 years,  be getting the same procedure as you.

I suffered heavy blood loss in early Dec last year.  Lasted for a week.  Uterine wall thick.  Should be thin after 3 years in menopause.  So need proper cell samples to test.  But because of Covid,  Christmas and Covid again,  my 4 week emergency surgery,  will be done at 7 weeks,  fingers crossed.  Had another week long heavy bleed early January.  But my leg pain,  changes in bladder,  and my severe cough,  it doesn't look good.

But,  we just wait and see.

Re: Far and Away

Oh @utopia my heart is absolutely breaking for you my dear friend. I cannot imagine this world without you 😥 and hope beyond hope that the news is better than expected. You may not have been around much for a while but to me you have been (and always remain) one of my closest supports, friends and saviours. We have been through A LOT together but throughout it all what always stays with me is the fun times we have shared - those times meant more to me than you could ever know - they gave me hope, a place to forget and quite often a smile - all of which I had not had for so long. You my beautiful cocky friend are one of the brightest stars in the sky and I am so grateful to have met you. My thoughts are with you as you move forward to find out what is going on - and I hope so much that the news is more positive than you imagine. Hugs and hugs and hugs Hon 💛💛💛💛💛

Re: Far and Away

I have some difficulty moving sideways unless I am very careful @Faith-and-Hope I have a brace on for now and see my GP Friday. It is improving every day though so I suspect it is just a sprain and there is no ligament damage. The graze under the knee actually feels worse now than the knee itself - carpet burns hurt! My headaches have eased from hitting it so that is also positive.

Sending you some extra love and hugs to get through this coming week 💖💖💖

Re: Far and Away

@Zoe7  You helped me through many a crisis.  With my ex employer,  WorkCover and there constant Psychiatric reviews,  With CentreLink who couldn't understand why I couldn't work at the time,  but was inelligable for Disability because my mental state was not "stable". Lol.

I remember a weird conversation about starting our own brand of T-shirts with mental health sayings.  That one had all of us laughing for days.

Just last year I bought a top off the internet that says,  "sometimes I talk to myself.  Then we laugh and laugh". I wear it all the time in my conservative little town.  My mum hates it and says it draws attention to my mental state.  Poo Hoo.  If you can't laugh sometimes,  then what's the point.  And I think of you and our crazy conversations from back then.  Good memories  my friend.

Re: Far and Away

LOL our t-shirt business would have been soooo successful and so lucrative @utopia Some of those sayings/quotes/jokes we came up with had me on the floor in a flood of laughing tears. I do also remember getting sent an email from a mod re: concerns for me because I was posting so much when I transferred all our discussions into a new thread - I laughed at that most I think - not because of the concern shown but because I could very much see how from the other side it would look unusual - we both had a giggle about it when I explained. I still have the cheeky squirrel logo I designed for us for our business 'awwww Nuts!' Such wonderful times - maybe we should revise that thread again - I am sure there would be some great contributions because we have some very funny and forward thinking members here ...let me sit on that one for a day or two 👍

...and as for being there for each other - well what can I say ...we (along with @Faith-and-Hope @Teej particularly) rode the highs and lows (and very lows) together for so long. There were of course others there (some who have left sadly) but we all shared such a special bond. You 3 collectively sat with me for literally days on end, kept me going and continued to hold me up even when I could not do it myself. ....and here we are now Hon - still going despite all that we have had thrown at us and all that we have had to endure. ...so if anyone was to ever ask what this forum has done for us then my answer is simple - I am alive! What greater gift can one be given but life - and in so many ways this is my second chance and you all made that possible. Love you my beautiful cocky friend - forever 💖
