I am so happy having solar @TAB. You could always take out a green loan like i did with the folks at "Plenti". Its excellent during spring summer and autumn when we have clearer skies and more sunlight. My bills went down to zero during those seasons in most cases. It will keep you in control of your bills. I still have to look into a generator. Do you know of any loan companies that would do it? A generator is not renewable energy. Wondered if Plenti would still service a loan with something thats non renewable.
Plus I would need either the option of drawing from the gasline to operate the generator (don't know how much more gas is going to be available - its being phased out) or use diesel or some other fuel like propane.
Have been doing more spring cleaning. Found my old leather gloves from Aldi I bought years ago. They went missing. Had cold fingers all winter. Tomorrow will do more housework. Dug out my energiser headlamp working, it was on special from amazon. So if in the event of an outage I can wear the headgear and have a lamp on my head so I can see. Just more preparedness stuff.

@TAB I've just been on the phone to the generator company and got specs and logistics. They can also run off the gas mains on your house instead of buying diesel or propane duel fuel tanks. That way you have a constant supply of gas to the device without it switching off and having to refuel. Theres no fumes like other generators and can be situated anywhere although not too far away from the gas mains. I'm looking into Generac 10KVA which is a domestic model. Which should cover me. They have been a reliable brand for almost 30 years

@TAB Heard a saying with wind turbines "no blow, no go" ie if theres no wind then no electricity being generated. Heard one journalist Alan Jones say it was unreliable. Just be careful with everything green is good, it sounds ok on the surface but in practice they don't generate electricity when you need it. No good about being declined loan with Plenti. It was good speaking to the generator company. At least I'm more clear about whats going on. Just need to come up with money. Not making a major purchase until after the first week of September. Have other stuff going on in the background dont know whether to commit to a purchase if plans change.

@TAB Yeah the interest is 6% at Plenti and I think they have a monthly administration fee. It looks like you can get loans for everything including travel and home reno. Thought it was just for renewables but was wrong. I won't have to go to another brokerage place that may not be accessible online with a borrowers portal. Was wondering about that. Anyway something more to think about
