Re: Daily Check In Space

Ohhh sending you lots of understanding hugs my friend @Healandlove

It is hard to know what to say and I have found that it does not matter what you say at that moment

I usually say something positive and then walk away , which still affects me

I'm so sorry to hear that your husband is going through a difficult time with depression. It's not easy for either of you, but your support and love can make a world of difference.

First and foremost, remember that you're not alone in this journey. Depression and BPD can be a challenging road, but it's one that can be traveled together. Here are some things to keep in mind:

  1. Your unwavering love and support mean the world to your husband. Let him know that you're there for him through thick and thin.

  2. Encourage open and honest communication between you two. Sometimes, just talking about feelings can provide relief and bring you closer together.

  3. It's great that you are seeking help from Sane next week, as seeking professional help can provide valuable insights and strategies for coping with depression.

  4. Remember to take care of yourself too. Supporting someone with depression can be emotionally taxing, so make sure you're looking after your own well-being.

  5. Your husband having depression as well as your diagnosis of BPD can make daily tasks seem like mountains to climb. Celebrate even the smallest achievements and progress as they come. It's these small steps that lead to recovery.

  6. Reach out to friends, family, and support groups if needed. Don't be afraid to ask for help or a listening ear when you need it.

  7. Understand that the road to recovery might not be linear. There will be ups and downs, but with time and perseverance, things can improve.

Remember, it's okay to ask for help and take breaks when needed. You're doing an incredible job supporting your husband, and I applaud your strength and resilience. You've got this, and together, you can overcome this challenge.

Please continue to reach out and please keep updated on how you are feeling.

Re: Daily Check In Space

@Shaz51 thank you lovely Shaz. Yes that's what I do. Maybe I need to get better at blocking the negativity. Even if I distract myself with something else I feel physically exhausted. I will talk to my therapist about it. It is good to know I am not the only one feeling affected even after setting up boundaries. Hope you are well. When do you get your results?

Re: Daily Check In Space

@Healandlove , I get the results next week then see the kidney specialist the week after

I have found and still learning to read the signs and  to have a Toolbox of things  ready to distract myself until later

Re: Daily Check In Space

How is everything today @Healandlove xx

Re: Daily Check In Space

@Shaz51 , thank you for asking.  I'm glad you get your results soon and will see the specialist. How is Mr Shaz coping?

I have high levels of anxiety today. I am not sure why but I have a stomach ache.

I think it is all related to the emotional draining. I have a few relaxing activities planned for tonight after the kids go to bed. Last night my husband and I watched a comedy together at home and we laughed together which was nice. However today I just feel very anxious.

I'm trying to ride it as I make dinner.

Re: Daily Check In Space

Hope you feel a bit better soon @Healandlove

I hope you get an early night @Shaz51 . Hugs

Re: Daily Check In Space

Me too @tyme

Usually when my husband has a high it is followed by a low 🤔

Re: Daily Check In Space

@Shaz51 , that's great! I'm glad that you both had that productive time together. Hot water bottle for the aches and pains and an early night sleep. Hope you feel better soon too. 💕
