National Close The Gap Day

Today is National Close The Gap Day, it is also Harmony Day. 

Close The Gap Day is a national day of action to pledge support for achieving better health outcomes for Australia’s First Nations people. Currently Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a life experiencing of 10-17 years lower than non Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. 

Harmony Day is celebrated worldwide is a day to celebrate different cultures that make up our countries and communities.

It's so important that we have this front and foremost in our minds as Australia moves towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander recognition, rights, justice and equity.

Thank you for sharing. I could not put it into words quite as good as tyme, but i think it is great that there is a day for Indigenous Australians to be acknowleged, understood and respected.
