Has anyone experienced both OCD and depression together?

Some of the people in my IOP group have reported to dealing with both of these together, and the more I research the topic, the more it seems like they really can stem from one another. In my personal experience, a lot of the depressive type feelings can flow into the OCD type thinking, if that makes sense. Here's some of the stuff I thought was interesting on this topic. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4610610/, https://blog.treatmyocd.com/https-blog-treatmyocd-com-depression-and-ocd-be59ce8430fe, https://psych...

Re: Has anyone experienced both OCD and depression together?

Hi @Jen1561, yes I have both, my OCD has been around for a long time. I will look up your links you’ve posted later so thanks. Yes, depressive feelings can flow in to OCD as you say, but I think depressive feelings are a natural result from living with OCD, as it’s so tiring checking, counting etc. I have seen a Psychiatrist & been prescribed medication which has helped relieve the symptoms for me, plus therapy. I am so glad there is so much help out there, like here, this site. Nice to meet you. Have a happy new year. Kind regards, @1stepup61
